HELLP Syndrome Complicated by Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation and Multiple Organ Failure

Abstract
HELLP syndrome is an obstetric complication defined by hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelet count. A 27-year-o1d multiparous woman who had been diagnosed as a severe preeclampsia developed suddenly progressive hemolysis, liver enzyme elevation, thrombocytopenia, acute renal failure, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and pulmonary edema with massive postpartum bleeding after cesarean section. The patient died on the 6th day after a cesarean section had been done. We report a case of severe postpartum HELLP syndrome.
